Job Description
Blackboard Transact™ is an integrated technology platform that helps improve the student experience and campus safety, while helping streamline business operations and increasing revenue. The Blackboard Transact platform includes capabilities within two integrated modules:
Commerce Management: facilitates campus ID card issuance, cashless payment processing, account management and reporting on-campus, off-campus, and online.
Security Management: monitors all campus activity using integrated door access control, video surveillance and mass notification capabilities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Blackboard’s Transact business has experienced unprecedented growth. As a result, Blackboard seeks an exceptional professional who possesses a proven track record in operational & financial analysis, as well as continuous improvement.
This position will report directly to the VP of Strategic Operations and will work closely with various departments.
The Business Process Manager will:
* Drive process improvements across Forecasting, Purchasing, Production Planning, Distribution, Vendor Account Mgt., Financial Operations (including Invoicing, Contract Management, Credit & Collections, Accounts Receivable), Supply Chain;
* Translate strategic business decisions into tactical plans and manage implementation;
* Develop and implement tactical operational capabilities that deliver world-class business results and support increased employee and customer satisfaction;
* Work with all functional organizations to understand their business operational requirements and to ensure seamless and efficient integration across the entire business process lifecycle;
* Communicate with customers to assess customer satisfaction level with products and services that may lead to operational process improvements;
* Support Transact’s “Client Success” program initiatives;
* Ensure operational controls that support proper revenue recognition;
* Monitor objectives, performance standards and priorities that are implemented and measured across the company;
* Evaluate and assess new product and services offerings based upon size, complexity, and infrastructure requirements in order to deliver requisite operational capabilities;
* Support classic “cost accounting” analysis in conjunction with corporate resources with respect to: Build v. Buy, In-Sourcing, Outsourcing, etc.
Required Experience
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management or Economics related area
* 5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Operations working on business re-engineering and process improvements, with at least 2 years leading process improvement projects.
* Proven experience in program or project management leading clients and team members through medium to large projects
* Experience in disciplined implementation methodologies, root cause analysis, industry standards or certifications such as ISO
* Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non-technical individuals and communicate clearly, effectively, and proactively
* Experience creating and delivering formal presentations
* Must thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment
* Demonstrated ability to implement new processes that drive operational excellence; must get buy-in from others on new processes and build the operational components to execute new process design.
* Extremely high energy and stamina to perform consistently and at a high level in a very demanding environment
* Strong detail-orientation
* Time management skills; ability to effectively plan deliverables, determine risk assessment, and estimate resource needs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Advanced degree
* Experience with major enterprise systems such as Peoplesoft and/or SAP
* Experience in the software products industry
* Six Sigma Green Belt
* CPA
