Project Manager Tracking Code 101636 Job Description POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Project Manager is the primary point-of-contact for the client in planning and delivering the service solution, working to ensure a timely and quality implementation. They work closely with the Consulting team to schedule and deploy resources to client sites as necessary. They use project management tools to track, manage and communicate progress on all projects. This role is responsible for maintaining client satisfaction during the relationship and success relies heavily on the Project Manager's ability to communicate, set, and maintain clear expectations with everyone involved. The Project Manager needs to have an understanding of all aspects of planning and delivering a Blackboard solution including finance, support, system architecture and development, current technologies, the client industry, and the Blackboard products. OBJECTIVES: * Project management * Service Delivery * Financial management * Client expectation and quality management * Account development * Operational procedures and policies Project Management and Account Development * Conduct post-sale scope call to initiate resource planning * Plans, designs, implements, and manages the implementation of all services engagements. * Ensure proper resources are in place to provide effective and quality installation and support * Works directly with customer regarding changes to the project scope, assessment of possible constraints and identification of new service opportunities * Coordinates the interaction with internal departments in the areas of procurement (Production), kick-off conference calls (Sales), resource assignment (Consulting) and hand-off calls (Support) * Coordinate with other 3rd Party Vendors (Micros, Pharos, Bookstore POS Companies) * Follow a project methodology to: * Define the projects objectives, scope and resources * Plan the tasks necessary to meet project objectives * Manage the execution tasks, communication issues and reallocating resources as necessary * Close the project by ensuring all tasks are completed and the project is sufficiently documented * Facilitate necessary internal and external meetings and prepare necessary status reports to ensure project tasks are being completed in a timely fashion * Prepares, maintains and submits management reports (progress reports, time recording, escalations) * Develop productive relationships with internal sales group * Identify new business opportunities with the ability to understand the general capabilities and limitation in a customer's current computer environment Financial Management * TRACK ALL SERVICES TIME COSTS FOR THE SERVICE PROJECT. * TRACK HOURS OF EFFORT DELIVERED VERSUS QUOTE AND ALERTS CUSTOMERS OF NECESSARY ADDITIONAL FEES Client Expectation and Quality Management * Ensures the quality of each service project and develop and cultivate strong customer relationships Operational Procedures and Policies * Conduct project management and service delivery activities using existing procedures * Ensure project team members operate within Global Service guidelines * Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices Required Experience PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED SKILLS: * A minimum of 5 years proven experience in direct project management leading clients and team members through complex technical implementations and integrations. * Willingness to travel (up to 70% of time) and to work both independently and with a team to deliver high-quality training required. . * Demonstrated leadership skills, communication, analytical and problem solving skills, and short term and long term planning skills. * Bachelor's degree; with 5 years work related experience in a relevant technical discipline.
